Beginner Tap (Grades 1-12)

About:
Beginner Tap is a fun and energetic style that combines music, movement, and rhythm through the use of tap shoes. Students will develop rhythm, coordination, balance, musicality, and confidence while learning a variety of tap steps and combinations.

Each class will include a warm-up, rhythm activities, and combinations across the floor, including shuffles, flaps, time steps, turns, and fun tap combinations. Students will also learn a choreographed routine to perform at the end of the school year.

LOCATION
Students will either be dropped off by their parents/guardians at the cafeteria at 4:30 pm or they will sign in after their first PACE class finishes.
Pick up will be at the cafeteria promptly when class finishes.

Attire:
Students should wear a bodysuit or T-shirt with shorts or leggings, or other form-fitting, stretchy clothing. Hair should be pulled back away from the face. Students should arrive at class in appropriate dance attire.

Time: 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Please note, classes follow the school calendar, so there will be no classes on days that school is not in session.

Total Program Cost: $400
Costume Deposit: $70

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Children will be given a small snack at the start of their program. Please ensure all allergies are listed and provide us with up-to-date information.
To celebrate student learning and work throughout the year, students will be invited to participate in a year-end performance. A dress rehearsal will be held in the week before the performance. More details will be given closer to the date.

REGISTRATION
Registration opens on October 5th at 8:00 AM and closes on November 1, 2026 at 11:55 PM or once the program is full. A waitlist is available at no cost.
