Dream, Draw & Craft (Grade K–2)

ABOUT
Our Beginner Art class is for students enrolled in Kindergarten - Grade 2 at Pacific Academy for the 2026/2027 school year. Students will be introduced to traditional painting and drawing as well as explore mix media ideas such as print making, cyanotype printing, and 3D modeling with clay. Students will learn basic colour theory and mix colours with the 12 basic colours as well as paint with shapes. Basic techniques about how to use oil pastels and creating texture with them will also be taught. This class is perfect for students with little to no experience. Students will be required to bring a set of basic supplies (see below).

LOCATION
Students will be picked up by a staff member from their classroom after school and be brought to the cafeteria for a snack before going to their class location

Tuesday, September 8th, 2025 to Tuesday, June 15th, 2027
Time: 2:45 PM - 4:45 PM
Please note, classes follow the school calendar, so there will be no classes on days that school is not in session.

ATTIRE
As this class runs immediately after school students should remain in their school uniform. Art smocks will be provided when needed.  

SUPPLIES
Basic art supplies will need to be purchased ahead of time by families and sent with each student on the first day of class.
Please purchase the following art supplies:

• Oil Pastels
• Clay Tool Set
• Paint Brushes
• Mix Media Pad
• Drawing Pencils

Please note that the above links are the recommended brands, as lower quality supplies and materials will make a difference in the quality of art created. Any special or extraneous material will be provided by the instructor.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Children will be given a small snack at the start of their program. Please ensure all allergies are listed and provide us with up-to-date information.

REGISTRATION
Registration opens on May 4, 2026 at 8:00 AM and closes on October 5, 2026 at 11:55 PM or once the program is full. A waitlist is available at no cost.
